PRIVACY POLICY (General Data Protection Regulations)

 

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the EU. The GDPR sets out principles for data management and the rights of individual.

 

  • The Practice has been established in Mayfield for 10 years. It draws its patients from Mayfield and surrounding villages.
  • The Practice are members of The Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists and registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
  • There are two practicing podiatrists and two receptionists

 

This Privacy Policy tells you how The Practice handles any information you provide to it. Everything possible is done to protect your privacy and to make sure any personal in formation you share is stored securely. By providing your personal information you agree to allow The Practice to contact you either on the basis of the consents you have given The Practice for our legitimate interests in accordance with current data protection regulations. The Practice only shares your information with the medical profession and only with your consent.

 

The Practice will have collected information from you when you joined The Practice. Please see attached Registration Form. The records of your appointments at  The Practice are held on file and updated immediately after your appointment.

 

In accordance with the General Data Protection Act 2018 all personal information will be held securely and used with care and in accordance with this policy. Your information is stored both digitally and manually (hard copy). The Practice only collects information about you that you have knowingly provided. It uses the information for appointment contact purposes and reference notes for podiatrists therapies.

 

Subject to your prior approval we may communicate with you by phone to organise appointments and occasionally one a one to one basis by email as agreed with you.

 

Our Website does not use cookies. All visitors access the website anonymously

 

In addition to this policy your personal data is protected in the UK by the General Data Protection Regulations Act 2018. The Practice will only process your data in accordance with the Act and in a lawful and fair manner. Your personal data will be kept secure to prevent unauthorised access by third parties. You data may have to be disclosed if The Practice is required to disclose it by law or as a result of a lawful request by a governmental or law enforcement authority.

 

You have the right to:

  • Request to view all the data that The Practice holds about you
  • Request The Practice to amend or delete all personal data with exception of your name alone
  • Withdraw your consent to The Practice communicating with you at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office
